Our Leadership Team takes great pride in player development.  We are committed to delivering the highest quality training available.

The Technical Director and Directors of Coaching are paid positions. These positions attend Monthly Board Meetings, as necessary, to make recommendations to the Board of Directors, but do not vote.

  • Professional indoor soccer for the Massachusetts Habcats-Arena Soccer League
  • Former Assistant Coach at Curry College (Men's Div. III)
  • Currently Head Boys Coach-Hunterdon Central Regional High School
  • 2008 and 2013 Courier News Boys Soccer Coach of the Year
  • 2008 Star-Ledger Coach of the Year-West Jersey
  • 2010 Star-Ledger New Jersey Coach of the Year
  • 2010 Soccer Coaches Association of NJ Sectional Coach of the Year
  • Current Director of Coaching and Player Development for Soccersmith

Jon Furlong

Coaching Qualifications:

  • UEFA B license
  • FA Level 1 and 2
  • USSF D License
  • NSCAA Level 6
  • Former junior coach in the UK with Tranmere Rovers
  • English Schools National champion

As Director of Coaching, Jon Furlong oversees all club programs:

  • Recreation
  • Travel
  • CAPS Premier

Jon has been coaching with GFSC/CAPS for more than 4 years and served as the DOC for the Boys Travel Program from 2016-2017.

Jon’s hometown is Liverpool, England, and he presently resides in Somerville, NJ.
